New Apostolic Reformation, Bethel Music, etc.

I just stayed up all night, after a deep sleep in the evening, learning about the recent so called Christian nutty stuff that has been going on for the past decade in the Church. The cultic practices that were easy to spot a few decades ago have really infiltrated the Church quite well this past decade. I had no idea.

I have been quite absent from the Contemporary Christian Music scene for a long time. It became a bit too… Well, the guys started sounding like whiney girls instead of men striving to know God in life. The women artists were becoming more… Well, Kick Ass so to speak. (Believe me, I have no problem with strong women. We need them. I know some men are more gentle and quiet than others. That is not what I am talking about.) So I just dumped the CCM scene and started listening more to Boston, Skynyrd, Metallica, Heart, etc… Well, at least the guys sounded like guys and the girls were girls. LOL. At least I didn’t have to guess where they were coming from.

Last night I stayed up learning about the New Apostolic Reformation, the Jesus Culture, Elevation Church, the School of Supernatural Ministry, Bethel Music and the more normal Joel Osteen / Hillsong United stuff that has its own sort of Name it Claim it old stuff of heretical views. I didn’t know this weird New Ageism stuff had infiltrated the Church so deeply. No wonder why every new Church doesn’t want to be called by a denominational name. It is easier to hide your unaccountability and or cult like behavior and beliefs when you aren’t associated with an identifier such as Washington Avenue (put denominational name here) Church.

I was reintroduced to the discussion by someone who was in this cult like group and noted some were claiming to be Reformational. I love historic Reformed Theology and respect the Councils and Creeds of the Church. Therefore I just assumed that these guys wanted to adhere to Biblical Christianity. But that was not the case. Seriously, I guess the Bible is becoming irrelevant and music and motivational gimmicks are the modern inspired text God has given us today. I just figured John Wimber and Peter Wagner had passed on. I guess not.

It seems it is getting easier to carry a Bible and not know or care about what is in it. Even if you are in the Pulpit. That is how nut job cults start while claiming to be Bible believing Christians. I listened to an Ordained Baptist Sermon, a round table of Ordained Presbyterian minister’s podcast , an Ex- New Ager podcaster Doreen Virtue interview someone from the movement, and a few others on the topic. I guess I have a lot to learn.

The times are changing. In reality, nothing is changing doctrinally. Just the same old heresies finding a new avenue to infiltrate the Church. Hymns were actually introduced for this purpose back in the time of the Early Church also. I love singing directly from the Psalter. It is all good unlike our uninspired Hymnody in the Church.

President Biden Speech / Colorado

Just watched the President address the recent Murders in Colorado.

First off the President should be properly addressing the Nation concerning the Border Crisis. It is of National interest way before the Colorado situation. He should also be addressing the Chinese situation also before he ever thought about this address. That is a major National situation. He is getting America to focus on the wrong things in order to push UNCONSTITUTIONAL LAW. BE FOREWARNED!!! HIS cabinet is not incompetent at deception and slight of hand.

Second point is that it wasn’t Gun Violence. The Guns were not Violent. The person or persons using the guns were violent. Biden’s push for Gun control is an attack on the 2nd Amendment. How sad. He should have been pushing for any law-abiding adult who is legally eligible to obtain a carry permit, to carry a handgun without first having to obtain government permission. This ensures that citizens have their right to self-defense without government red tape or delays. Statistics show where this is legal, crime is low as are the murder rates.

This President and his Cabinet hate America and our Freedom to responsibly live our lives

Joel Osteen and the old Word Faith Movement

Just commented on a post to help others out. If the picture’s statement above was only the tip of the problem then it wouldn’t be as bad. I personally don’t care if a person profits off of their labor. That doesn’t make someone evil. I would caution about profiting improperly off of God. LOL

There are bigger issues at hand though. For one thing sin is redefined and so is the work of God in Christ reconciling man to himself. It is totally redefined. The redefining of sin and reconciliation to God will deceptively leave a person lost in their sin and unreconciled to God resulting in Eternal Punishment.

The Word Faith Movement Heresy had its start up when a Pentecostal or some Baptist Preacher read Mary Baker Eddy’s booklet on healing, if I remember correctly. She (MBE) was the leader of the non-Christian cult Christian Science. It has been a long time since I studied the topic. Kenneth Copeland, Kenneth Hagin and yes even Joel’s father John became a few of the leaders of the movement and the school of Rhema.

Joel is following in the footsteps of his father John Osteen. Most of those guys had redefined Christian terminology and teaching that said we become gods like Jesus is. The doctrine of Spiritual rebirth (born again) took on a totally different meaning than what the scriptures teach. Jesus became Born Again and became a god. We are to do the same thing. They deceived many into thinking they could speak things into reality like Jesus could. If we can’t name it and claim it we just don’t have enough faith. That is our sin.

It was a major heresy and easily exposed. It is a False Gospel. It teaches a different God, different Spirit, and a different Jesus Christ than the scriptures do (that is Idolatry). It is an old heresy in the Church. St. Paul was worried about this problem in 2 Corinthians 11. St. Paul was worried they might receive a different spirit and different Jesus than they should. That only leads to a False life. I know many people who have come out of the movement after getting fully into the scriptures.
